LASD Palmdale Station: Littlerock cockfighting investigation leads to arrest

LASD Palmdale Station - Littlerock, California - March 28, 2014

On Friday, February 27, 2014, after a month-long investigation, a search warrant was served at the residence of Suspect Inocencio Aguirre, located at 11300 Block East Avenue R4, Littlerock. The investigation led deputies to believe the suspect was involved in a large-scale cockfighting operation at his residence.

Upon service of the search warrant, Suspect Aguirre was found to be in possession of approximately 150 game fowl. Investigation into the circumstances at the residence revealed the suspect was involved in a breeding and fighting operation.

The scene was processed for evidence, and the game fowl were removed by Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control for examination and processing for further evidence.

After all the evidence was collected and processed, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s (LASD) Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Bureau personnel presented the facts of the case to the Antelope Valley District Attorney’s Office for filing. A 28-count case of Possession of Gamecocks for Fighting was filed against Suspect Aguirre and an arrest warrant was issued. Suspect Aguirre was arrested Friday, March 28, 2014, for that warrant, booked at Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of $140,000 bail.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the LASD COPS Bureau (323) 981-5300.
