LASD Headquarters: Storm brings rain, snow, wind; I-5 closed through Grapevine

The National Weather Service - Los Angeles reports storm system is bringing rain, mountain snow & gusty winds to sw California late tonight thru Sat night: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/lox/

The California Highway Patrol reports that the Interstate 5 Freeway has been shut down through the Grapevine area from Parker Road (north Los Angeles County) through Grapevine Road (Kern County) due to snow. There is no estimate on when it will reopen.
Changeable Message Signs have been activated In Los Angeles and Kern County warning of the 5 freeway closure over the Grapevine.

Cal Trans recommends if you head north to consider Highway 126 to US 101. SR-58 is also currently closed.
