LASD Carson Station: Abducted Harbor City boys recovered safe; Father, stolen car still sought

Carson Sheriff's Station detectives were notified on Saturday, November 30, 2013 that a Good Samaritan had returned the 9 and 10 year old boys recently abducted from Harbor City (Co.) The boys were turned over to United States Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro Border of Mexico. The children had allegedly been abducted by their non-custodial father, Suspect Charles Samuel Baines Sr. on November 27, 2013.

Carson Sheriff's Station detectives responded to the United States Customs and Border Protection office at the San Ysidro Border and took custody of the children. The children were unharmed during the incident and medically cleared. The children were safely returned to their custodial grandparent.

Suspect Charles Samuel Baines Sr. has not been located and is believed to possibly be in Mexico. The investigation is ongoing and the suspect is wanted.

A stolen vehicle, belonging to the custodial grandparent has not been recovered and is possibly still in the possession of the suspect. The vehicle is a red 2008 Kia Spectra 4-door, license plate # 6FMN288.
