Enter to Win a “Wedding on The BLVD”

January 6, 2013

The BLVD Association and Antelope Valley Fair have announced the first-ever “Wedding on The BLVD” contest, which offers couples an opportunity to win a free wedding on The BLVD in downtown Lancaster. Engaged couples are invited to attend the 9th Annual Bridal Show at the Antelope Valley Fair on January 13 to enter the contest. The winning couple will receive a free wedding for up to 50 guests.

“From the dress and the catering to the tuxedos and photographer, The BLVD has everything a bride and groom need to plan their perfect day,” said Jill Cooper, President of The BLVD Association and Vice President of Antelope Valley Bank. “The Wedding on The BLVD highlights the wide selection of first-rate wedding vendors The BLVD has to offer, while also providing one lucky couple with the wedding of their dreams – all for free.”

The contest will kick off at the Bridal Show at the Antelope Valley Fair on Sunday, January 13 from noon to 5:00 pm, where engaged couples can visit the BLVD Association booth to film their video contest entries. Couples must be residents of the Antelope Valley region and age 21 or over in order to enter. Both the bride and groom must be present to film the contest entry. Admission to the Bridal Show is free; parking is $5.

“We are proud to partner with The BLVD Association to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attendees of this year’s Bridal Show,” said Wendy Bozigian, Marketing Manager for the Antelope Valley Fair. “With the chance to win a free wedding, a separate opportunity to win a designer wedding gown or four tuxedo rentals, and a variety of vendors from throughout the Antelope Valley, this year’s Bridal Show is shaping up to be one of our best yet.”

Once the contest entries are complete, a panel of VIP judges will select the winning couple. Staff, members and relatives of The BLVD Association and the Antelope Valley Fair are not eligible to win.

“Once the couple is selected, the fun begins,” said Erica Allbee, Vice President of The BLVD Association and owner of All About Fitness gym. “The bride and groom will select three options they like for a given aspect of their wedding – for example, the bride’s gown. Then, the public will be given the opportunity to vote online to choose which of those three options will be part of the wedding. This will be done weekly on each aspect of the wedding.”

The Wedding on The BLVD will include all of the following at no cost:
  • Bridal shower for up to 12 guests at MollyKate’s Gifts and Tea Room
  • Bachelor party at Kinetic Brewing Company
  • Bridal gown from Bella Bridal
  • Bridal gown alterations and preservation by George’s Cleaners
